Red Millenial

Offering Artists a New Way to Be Recognized

Promote beautiful, meaningful art by hosting purpose driven art competitions
Red Millenial guarantees prize money for each contest, regardless of how many artists show-up. One of our goals is to build a tribe for the arts, but even as we start this journey, by guaranteeing rewards, artists can feel confident that their art has the chance to be recognized and honored; with monetary rewards at first, but eventually with recognition from a thriving artistic community as well.
Red Millenial contests offer amateur artists the chance to do something more serious than hobby art but less exclusive than professional art. Each contest has a prompt and an art type (e.g. poetry). Find a contest you are interested in on the contest page, and create a piece of art responding to the prompt for that contest.

When you are done, you’ll enter your art piece by clicking "Submit Art" then following the prompts. You will only be able to submit your art during the contest submission phase. Once you have paid a small fee to enter the contest, your art will be displayed on the contest’s page where your friends can vote for you.

When the contest’s voting phase ends two kinds of winners will be decided:
  1. The Chosen Champion
  2. Popular Vote Winner(s)

The total prize amount will be split evenly between these two kinds of winners unless The Chosen Champion also receives the highest number of votes in the contest.
  • Artists
    • The Artist on Red Millenial is the person who creates a submission and enters it into a contest.
  • Voters
The Voters are the people who vote in the Red Millenial contests. You folks decide who wins the Red Millenial Popular Vote.
  • Sponsors
    • The Sponsor is the person who creates the individual Red Millenial contest. The Sponsor gives their own money to guarantee that the contest prize will be paid even if only one artist enters. The Sponsor creates the prompt for the contest and eventually decides who will be The Chosen Champion (i.e. who answered the prompt best in their opinion).
  • The Chosen Champion
    • The Chosen Champion is the artist who the sponsor believes created the best piece of art in response to the prompt. The contest sponsor will be the sole deciding factor in who becomes the singular Chosen Champion, not votes. This means that you can become The Chosen Champion without being the most popular, just make the best art you can. The Chosen Champion wins half of the total prize for the contest and will be prominantly displayed on the contest's page for all to see.
  • Popular Vote Winner(s)
    • The artist whose art submission receives the highest number of votes will receive half of the total prize for the contest. If multiple artists tie for the most popular art submission, then half the total prize for the contest will be split evenly among the most popular art submissions. The Chosen Champion is also eligible to be a Popular Vote Winner. The Popular Vote Winners will also be recognized on the contest's page for all to see.
